Centaur's random points of the update:
1) Listening to the Matrix soundtrack is really, really good to convince you that another ten minutes on the stationary bike won't kill you. And then another ten minutes after that. And then another ten after that.
2) As a result, I feel wickedly pumped. Go me.
3) I hadn't listened to the Matrix soundtrack in a looooong-ass time. I had almost forgotten what a good album that was. Have decided, however, that "Space Lord" is a better Monster Magnet song than "Look To Your Orb For The Warning." But that's okay.
4) On the music thread: I have newly discovered that Rob Dougan (aka Rob D) is a genius. Everyone needs to track down the songs "I'm Not Driving Anymore" (ESPECIALLY THAT ONE!), "Furious Angels," and "Born Yesterday." The guy's got a wickedly cool voice.
5) And for even more music, I've recently discovered the genius that is the Asian Dub Foundation. REALLY REALLY GOOD. Good stuff for blasting loud at parties to jump around to. It's sort of... a very breakbeat-y dub sound that they have... some of their tracks are outright drum n' bass, but it's actually done *live*, as opposed to entirely by drum machine. And they put on a wicked, wicked live show.
6) Evanescence's album comes out on the 4th! Yesssss!
7) Cheap all-you-can-eat Asian buffets are the best thing in the entire world after water-soluble oil paints.
...that is all.

Okay. To all Hardline people who stumble over here from time to time:
Yes. We have been rather absent lately. We apologize. We are a trio of obscenely busy women at the moment.
I know, I know, you're sick of hearing that, but it's true. Oy.
However: I've noticed that I haven't been able to access The Hardline for several days -- I think not since the 17th or 18th, and now it's saying I can't get on until the 22nd.
Given my time zone, I should be one of the first people to be able to access that site -- but I never can. It seems a little screwy to me.
We're going to move everything ASAP -- really, we are -- but for the time being, I'm taking a survey, because things are weird. Any of you who come here: if you remember when the last time was that you were able to access the board, would you just leave a reply here that says when it was?
I'm just wondering this because if I can't even get at the board at all, I'm finding it hard to believe that it's possible for the thing to be getting enough traffic to exceed bandwidth quotas. If it turns out things really *are* screwy -- well, I'm not sure what I'll do, but if nothing else maybe I can send an email to the ikonboard people and ask exactly how things work for the boards going into downtime.

*sigh*
Rae is an evil evil evil woman.
While I was sitting here cradling Trinity's dont in all of its exquisiteness....
Rae went and stole the deed to Trinity's hands.
Rae, you are an evil, evil woman.
Trinity has the sexiest hands in the entire world. Now I'm not sure what to do. What to choose? The hands or the dont?
I still stick by my peace proposal of the previous post. Two weeks rotation of both hands and dont. How about that?

I have just one thing to share with the world:
Trinity's dont is MINE! It's MINE and you WILL NOT GET IT FROM ME! HAHAHAHA!

Hmm, where do I start? Let's start with this, because it is the simplest of the things I have for you today! William Gibson, brilliant pioneer of the cyberpunk genre, is often credited with being a huge inspiration for The Matrix. Rightly so, I should say! His novel, Neuromancer, is a must read for any fan of The Matrix. At any rate, some people think that The Matrix toes the line between drawing inspiration and taking too much from the novel. (Generally, I believe the consensus to be that it was an acknowleded inspiration, not a plagiarization.) Apparently, William Gibson himself is a fan of the movie, and he talks about it here, in his Blog.

Very interesting!
Cool thing of fun number two is the ANIMATRIX! If you haven't seen the first episode yet (and WHY HAVEN'T YOU?) then you should go to http://www.theanimatrix.com right now! If you have, here are some suggested "further readings/viewings" (This is Teacher!Rae I guess ^_^)
*Ghost in The Shell - (You'd probably find this in the animation section of just about any Hollywood/Blockbuster Video) This incredible anime film really cuts to the heart of the discussion on what life really is. Is it sentience? Is it biology? Very relevant to "The Second Renaissance"
*Bladerunner - (You'll definitely find this at the local video rental place ^_^) Another look at the war between man and machine.
*Neuromancer by William Gibson - I'm just gonna push this every chance I get. All fans of The Matrix should have read this by now!
And Finally, the hopefully cool thing that I would like to be fun:
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=1220618
(It was very much inspired by seeing Second Renaissance.)
That's about it for now, I think. The only other stuff I've been up to is studying for my Kinesiology test. Come to think of it, that was pretty fun. I was lamenting to MTS that I could read fic until all hours of the night, but as soon as I cracked a book to (god forbid) learn something, my brain started telling my body to sleep. Somehow, this lead to my writting a somewhat smutty story in which Trinity and Neo educate each other in the specifics of anatomy and muscular action. (Neo will never forget the interdigitation of the Piriformis and Rectus Abdominus again. Oh no no no ^_~) I am happy to announce that writing fic HAS done me some academic good, as I knew all of the muscles for my test ^_^

Well, I'm having a bizarre geek out session tonight! I've had Ace of Base's new B-Side (Don't Stop) stuck in my head all day(it's not wonderful, but Linn sings a very catchy chorus. It's nice to hear her voice so clearly again) but then I also got Hey Darling (off of Da Capo) stuck in my head. This weirdness was further compounded by Centaur randomly telling me that she had been listening to it earlier today. Hmm! We have got to stop being freaky like that.
At any rate, I sent her the music video to "Lucky Love" (the North American version, although I've got the European version as well ^_~) AKA - "The Sexy Video" and to my intense joy, she said that a certain bathtub scene reminded her of Unrest. (I was joyful, because the scene in Unrest was inspired by the video, and I was pleased that she recognized it ^_^) I reminded her that it was listed as inspiration in the Author's Notes (Chapter 5, if you wanna be picky) and had myself a good nostalgic moment of happiness, remembering when I first encountered MTS, and then through her, Centaur. Awww. . .Memory Lane! (Actually, looking at my Chapter 6 notes, it must've been right around Chapter 5 that I first talked to them!) So basically, I'm being nostalgic, and somehow connecting this with Ace of Base. . .oh, a big geek am I!
Hmm. . .so the point of all of this? Watch Ace of Base videos and write much fanfic. I think.

Okay... this is the third time I've tried to post this... Livejournal is not my friend. This will be fun, though. It's the next stage in our collective quest to become a single schizophrenic identity. In the wired, ya know. Yes, Rae, I have seen *one* episode of "Serial Experiments Lain" and therefore can quote it, are you proud of me?
Anyway. In the interest of useless spammage:
You are a true nature girl!
Which Ultimate Beautiful Woman are You? brought to you by Quizilla
 Tough Legolas
What Lord of the Rings Male and Mood Do You Desire? brought to you by Quizilla

I liked it better when I was the warrior girl instead of Gaia-woman. But Gaia is cool too. And everybody knows, of course, that I have a massive crush on Trinity. Sweet :).
Centaur music of the moment is:
"Bring Me To Life" by Evanescence "Evergreen" by Faithless "Swollen" by Bent "Mandelgroove" by the Blue Man Group
Download those. Especially the first two. And download anything by Evanescence you can get your hands on -- and if it's good quality, tell me where you got it from!
Everybody needs to go here:
http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/rl_cmp/trailer2_qt.html
And watch the Superbowl trailer for The Matrix Reloaded. Do it! Do it now!
Apparently Rae and MTS updated with a bunch of downloads and links and things and I'm not really sure what they could be... but I'm not allowed to check. Hrm. Hopefully my suggestions will complement well.
Oh, and everybody come visit us at The Construct: www.geocities.com/construct303 . And then come talk to us at The Hardline, our messageboard, which you can link to from The Construct. Sweet.
OH! and everybody needs to check out our Friends page and read the *hysterical* "Very Secret Diaries" of Cassie Claire. Hysterical LOTR parody. And and and there's another HYSTERICAL LOTR parody to be found at fanfiction.net... but I'm sure either MTS or Rae or both have already linked that, so I'm not going to bother to track down the URL.

I don't get it. . .why am I "So goth I'm dead"? Maybe it's because I keep telling it that I'd rather be alone than in love. . .hmm. . .
Legolas is my fancy! What's your fancy? Click here and tell the world!

Welcome to the goddesses' latest nerdy project - the shared LiveJournal! We decided that since the three of us are always looking at something exciting, strange, or funny online, that we should start keeping a record. Here's where you'll find all of the miscellanious strangeness of our madness that doesn't quite fit in at The Construct or Hardline. At any rate, we'll be up and going soon ^_^
